Petty Raceway Gears Up for First Double Header of Season

RIVER GLADE, NB (May 29, 2013) – Don’t say it too loud, but it looks like even Mother Nature has circled this weekend on her calendar and will shine on the first double-header weekend of the season at Petty International Raceway. With racing set for this Friday and Saturday, Mother Nature is forecasting* sunny skies and hot temperatures both days – sure to fuel the level of competition in all seven divisions on the weekend docket.

Friday will feature the GT Enterprises Sportsman 100 along with the Leisure Days RV Bandoleros, the C Max Paint & Body Shop Street Stock, and the first race of the year for the AOW Modified Tour. On Saturday the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour makes its first stop of 2013 in New Brunswick for the Fast Eddie Racewear 100, along with the Mister Transmission Mini Stock, and the first of two stops in 2013 at Petty for the Maritime League of Legends – both presented by Atlantic Tiltload.

Besides posted purses, all seven divisions will be vying for bragging rights, trophies, and valuable championship points. The four Petty ‘house’ divisions (sportsman, street stock, mini stock, and bandoleros) started their season May 18 with more than 75 teams on hand – just as many are expected this weekend. Add to that total the three touring series (pro stock, legends, and AOW) and well over 100 of the Maritimes top race teams are expected at Petty International Raceway this weekend – anticipated to be one of the biggest race meets of the year in this region.

Friday’s show starts at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday’s show starts at 6 p.m.

Friday admission is just $20 for adults, $10 for youth aged 8 to 15, children 7 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $25 and restricted to those 18 and older. Saturday admission is $25 for adults, $10 for youth aged 8 to 15, children 7 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $30 and restricted to those 18 and older.
