TRIPLE 20s CELEBRATE 20TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON FOR ATLANTIC MODIFIED TOUR SATURDAY

Series Release/Photo by Tanya Everett

(MIRAMICHI, NB – June 29th, 2022) – The Atlantic Modified Tour heads back to Speedway Miramichi this Saturday, July 2nd for a 20th Anniversary Season celebration! The Tour headlines a stock car racing show at the North Shore oval with a 60-lap feature broken into three segments of 20-laps. The Allstar Auto Center Triple 20s is Round Four of the 2022 point season. Racing gets underway on Saturday at 7pm.

The format for the Allstar Auto Center Triple 20s is simple. Heat races will help set the field for the first of three 20-lap segments. An inversion from the finishing order of the first and second segments will set the starting order for the next 20-lap stanza. Allstar Auto Center will pay a $100 credit to the winner of the first and second 20-lap portion. The final 20-lap segment will pay the purse and points with the finishing order of the final 20-lap segment being the finish of the event. Fans will also have an opportunity to get in on the winnings courtesy of the Allstar Auto Center if they can predict the winner of the Allstar Auto Center Triple 20s. More information on how you can win will be available at the track on race day!

Braxton Stafford (Miramichi, NB) enters his home track as the most recent winner on the Atlantic Modified Tour, winning the Northside Auto Parts 35 last Saturday evening at Speedway 660. Stafford did not get the finish he desired during the first race at Speedway Miramichi in May and will look to rebound in the longest race for the Series in 2022.

In turn, Chris Wilson (South Esk, NB) won the first two events this season but struggled a bit last Saturday. Wilson missed the podium for the first time this season, finishing fourth in the No. 2W entry. The former Speedway Miramichi Street Stock Champion won the Blackville Auto Value 35 in May over Yves McCray (Negauc, NB) and Joe Hoyt (Waasis, NB).

McCray won his heat race last Saturday at Speedway 660 and was on the podium, ironically, with Travis Conroy (Miramichi, NB) in Conroy’s first start of the season. The pair who battled it out for the last two Atlantic Modified Tour championships will look to carry momentum north to Speedway Miramichi as they look for their first feature wins of the year in the Allstar Auto Center Triple 20s.

Speedway Miramichi traditionally sees strong car counts for the Series as several drivers are based out of the region. Doug Matchett (Miramichi, NB) is still in search of his first podium run of 2022 and hopes that home cooking will help fuel his run Saturday. Kevin Bailey (Minto, NB) was third in the season opening Kamizo Transport 35 at Petty Raceway and is looking forward to his second podium run coming this weekend. Leading rookie Tristin Harris (Harvey, NB) returns to the track with his best finish so far this season after he placed fifth in the Blackville Auto Value 35 in May. Kim Hallihan (Renous, NB) along with several other part-time competitors will look to successfully defend their home turf Saturday during the Allstar Auto Center Triple 20s.

Grandstand admission prices for Saturday’s Allstar Auto Center Triple 20s are $20 for adults and $10 for youth aged eight to 17 and $10 for Seniors aged 65 and older, while children seven years of age and under will be admitted free. Pit admission is $25. Racing action gets underway on Saturday at 7pm. Tickets are available at the gate on race day.

Can’t make it to the track to see the Atlantic Modified Tour in person? No problem! Tim’s Corner Motorsports TV will have a crew at Speedway Miramichi to produce Saturday’s event. You can watch the race LIVE or On-Demand following the event by heading to TimsCorner.tv and getting your Event Pass! TimsCorner.tv is a member of the Speed Sport TV family.
