RIVER GLADE, NB (July 9, 2014) – As the 2014 season approaches the mid-way point the New Brunswick Big Dawg Challenge is set for round three (of six) this Friday night at Petty International Raceway. The challenge series pits sportsman, street stock, and mini stock drivers from Petty against those from Speedway Miramichi, in Miramichi.
As a result the Napa Cmax Sportsman division will contest the checkered flag in a 100-lap feature, the street stock will see a 30-lap feature, and the mini stocks get 25 laps to decide a winner.
Also on the card is a 50-lap feature for the Petty pro stock division.
Besides a win, drivers in all four divisions will battle for championship points for the season. That being said, every position counts toward determining overall champions.
Entering this event JR Lawson has a slim two-point lead over Brad Daley in the mini stocks, Ken Mackenzie Jr. sits just five markers ahead of Alexandra O’Blenis in the street stocks, Russell Smith Jr. is just three points ahead of Luc Bourgeois in sportsman, and Chris Duncan leads Ken MacKenzie by one point in the pro stock division.
