Three podium finishes in four races for “King Commander”

Austin MacDonald tackled a new track over the past two weeks and came home with four top four finishes.

MacDonald raced at Concord Speedway on the weekend on April 15th and 16th where he picked up the tricky 1/4-mile quickly, grabbing fourth and third place finishes on the first weekend. The team returned this past weekend, April 29th and 30th, where MacDonald backed up his previous weekend performance with a second and third place finish.

Combined with the final three finishes at INEX Winter Nationals at Orlando Speedworld in February, the team rides seven consecutive top four finishes in their last seven starts. MacDonald, who is a Bandolero Outlaw this year, will look to carry on as Canadian champion after graduating from the Bandolero Bandit division, an age group in which he won the Canadian title in during the 2015 season.

MacDonald will open his Maritime season, along with other Bandolero teams within the region, on May 21st at Petty Raceway (NB) and May 22nd at Scotia Speedworld (NS).

Of note, New Brunswickers Ashton Tucker and Cory Hall also got track time at Concord Speedway on the April 15th and 16th weekend. Tucker ran with MacDonald in the Bandolero Outlaw feature on April 16th and was credited with an eighth place finish. Hall picked up fifth and seventh place finishes at Concord on the weekend in the Combined Legends feature. Tucker will begin his rookie season in a Pro Stock car on May 15th at Speedway 660 while Hall will open his local season with a Scotia Speedworld double on May 21st (Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends Tour) and 22nd (Scotia Speedworld Weekly Division).
