NSPE Demolition Derby Registration Now Open

One of the biggest motorsports events in Truro and two of the highlights of the annual Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition (NSPE) are nearing.

The Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition Demolition, this year presented by John Ross and Sons, will take place on Wednesday, August 26th and Thursday, August 27th at the Truro Raceway on the NSPE Grounds with a post time of 7pm each evening. This year, the two derby events will be split up into a Rear Wheel Drive Demolition on Wednesday and a Front Wheel Drive Demolition on Thursday. Each Derby will pay $500 to win, with $300 and $200 for second and third places.

Entry for each car is $30 prior to August 14th, after which the entry fee rises to $50. Entry forms and competitor packages can be found at the NSPE website. Questions regarding the NSPE Demolition Derby can be directed to lead official Luc Richard at (902) 890-0061.

In 2014, Jeff Davidson from Inverness was the winner of the Eight Cylinder Derby with Devon Grant of Truro taking the Six Cylinder Derby.

Tim’s Corner Motorsports will have pre and post derby coverage from both night’s coverage. The NSPE Demolitions will kick off a huge weekend of motorsports action for TCM which will also include the 21st Annual Shriners Classic at Scotia Speedworld (NS) on Friday, August 28th and the Edward Collins Contracting 125 at Eastbound Park (NL) on Saturday, August 29th.
