New Brunswick Bound – Chris Reid Opts Out of Sydney Saturday

It appears that the “defending champion” of the NAPA Sportsman Series will be switching from title defense mode effective this weekend.
Following a story published previewing the NAPA Sportsman Series race at Cape Breton Miners Memorial Speedway on Saturday, point leader and 2014 titlist Chris Reid has stated he is not planning on running in the 100-lap event on Saturday afternoon at his home track.
Stating a “differing of opinions between him and race officials after the IWK 250 weekend,” Reid has decided to shift gears and change his schedule. He will now head to Petty International Raceway this weekend for Sunday’s running of the Caleb Dunn Memorial 100, running the team’s #31 car. Reid also plans on running two races at Speedway 660, the Firecracker 150 on August 15th and the Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 150 on September 5th, along with a return to Petty on August 21st for the Sportsman feature a part of International weekend.
He has also not ruled out a return to Riverside before the 2015 season closes, but has no immediate plans to run in his backyard.
His brother Kyle Reid, who sits second in NAPA Sportsman Series points, is expected to run in Sydney on Saturday before making the haul to Petty Raceway for Sunday’s 100-lap event.
