Bud’s Speedway Unveils 2024 Racing Schedule

(SYDNEY, NS – January 23rd, 2024) – Management at Bud’s Speedway is excited to release their 2024 racing schedule. The calendar for the Sydney, Nova Scotia oval has expanded to eight race dates and includes racing from seven unique stock car racing classes from June to October.

The stock car roster is anchored by the Mini Stock, V6 Thunder and Hobby Stock classes. Each of these classes are scheduled to compete in seven races in 2024. The Street Stocks will compete in six point paying events. The Bandolero division will also race for a track championship this coming Summer with five point races through the year and a special extended distance, non point event on Saturday, October 19th as a part of the Caper Memorial Weekend.

The popular Late Model Sportsman division returns twice in 2024 for 100-lap events. The Sportsman will anchor the July 6th racing program along with the second day of the Third Annual Caper Memorial on Saturday, October 19th.

The Third Annual Caper Memorial will take on a different format in 2024. The V6 Thunder, Hobby Stock and Bandolero divisions will contest their Caper Memorial and point finales on Friday, October 18th following afternoon open practice. The Sportsman, Street Stock and Mini Stocks will race on Saturday, October 19th with a visit from the Heart of a Champion Hot Rod Classics and a Bandolero special event.

The season opens on Saturday, June 1st with racing in Street Stock, Mini Stock, V6 Thunder, Hobby Stock and Bandolero divisions. These divisions will return on Saturday, August 3rd, Saturday, August 31st and will support the Sportsman Classic on Saturday, July 6th. The Street Stocks will see their extended distance race on June 1st,  the V6 Thunder and Hobby Stocks will run extra laps on August 3rd and the Mini Stocks will work a longer feature during Labour Day Weekend on August 31st.

New for 2024, Bud’s Speedway will contest two “Wednesday Night Stock Car Specials.” The Mini Stock, V6 Thunder and Hobby Stocks will run under the lights on Wednesday, August 14th and Wednesday, September 18th. These two events will count towards the season long point championships for the three classes. Streets Stock will also contest a point paying Wednesday Night Special on Wednesday, August 14th, joining the three classes already on the card.

The Annual Demolition Derby returns to its late summer date and will conclude the Saturday, August 31st race in Sydney.

Bud’s Speedway celebrates the accomplishments of their teams from the 2023 season coming up on Saturday, February 24th at the Horizon Achievement Centre at 258 Ferry Street in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Tickets will be available beginning the first week of February by emailing the Speedway office.
