Quick Results: Power Jr Powers to Victory in GT Enterprises Sportsman 100
In the case of Mike Power Jr, victory was worth waiting about 36 hours for.
Power drove to victory in the GT Enterprises Sportsman 100 at Petty Raceway Sunday as he made the winning move in the last five laps to the inside of Russell Smith Jr. for the win, his first in a 100 lap feature at Petty Raceway. He won a 50 lap race in 2012 at PIR, beating Smith in a photo finish.
Smith settled for second with Matt Maillet on his bumper in third. Shawn McLean rebounded from a weekend full of mechanical issues to take fourth while Brady Creamer took home fifth.
Cole Tanner was the winner in the Leisure Days RV Centre Bandolero feature as he outdueled “Rocket” Ryan Messer and Dawson McIntee.
Mike Weagle won in a landslide over Brad Daley and Mike Phillips in the Mister Transmission Mini Stocks. Weagle will miss the next event at Petty Raceway due to his daughter Jayden’s treatment of Neuroblastoma.
Martin Landry went two-for-two in the C Max Paint and Body Shop Street Stocks as he outlasted Darcy O’Neill and rookie Alexandra O’Blenis.
The next event for Petty International Raceway is a double header on June 29th and 30th, headlined by the Lucas Oil 150 for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour on Saturday evening. More information as the event nears.
