(Yarmouth, NS – February 29th, 2024) – Nova Scotia’s Lake Doucette Motor Speedway, located just a short drive from Yarmouth in the small village of Lake Doucette, has been purchased by a new ownership group. The new ownership group acquired the track from Shaun Burke at the end of February 2024 and will oversee operation of the 25 year old facility effective immediately.

The new group sees several familiar names to the motorsport community in Southwest Nova Scotia come together in this venture. They include reigning Late Model Sportsman champion JP Arsenault, race director and Southwest Stock Car Association (SWSCA) President Lanna Beattie, multi-time Late Model Sportsman feature winner Jason Morris, longtime racer Lloyd Jeddry, Four Cylinder driver Adam White, veteran Late Model Sportsman racer Mike Banks and Atlantic Canadian motorsport personality Tim Terry.

Built in 1999 by Gaston Comeau as a dirt bike track for his son, it was not long before cars made their way onto the dirt oval. For almost two decades, Lake Doucette Motor Speedway has been a paved oval and has hosted several regional racing tours, including the Maritime All Star Series (MASS), the Heart of a Champion Hot Rod Classics (HOAC), the Atlantic Modified Tour (AMT) and the East Coast Mini Stock Tour (ECMST). The MASS Auto World Sportsman and the Hot Rod Classics powered by Conrad Bros will return to the track to open the 2024 season on Saturday, June 1st. The track is located off Exit 32 on Nova Scotia Highway 101 at 589 Hectanooga Road.

Stock car racing operations will continue to be overseen by the SWSCA and the 2024 schedule previously released will remain unaffected by this announcement. The roster of house divisions at the half mile paved oval includes Late Model Sportsman, V8 Stock, Four Cylinder and Four Cylinder Outlaws. The full schedule can be found by visiting LakeDoucetteMotorSpeedway.ca or visiting the group “LakeDoucetteMotorSpeedway” on Facebook.
