MAHAR CAPTURES FIRST VICTORY OF SEASON AT SCOTIA SPEEDWORLD

(HALIFAX, NS – June 25th, 2022) – Owen Mahar (Hubley, NS) raced to his first Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends Tour victory of 2022 Saturday afternoon at Scotia Speedworld. Mahar took control of the CKG Elevator 50 presented by Samuel, Son and Co. on the event’s only restart on Lap 22 and held the lead over the second half of the 50-lap feature en route to the win. It is his second Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends Tour victory of his career and his first with the Tour at his home track.
Gage Gilby (Enfield, NS) was credited with second place after Colton Noble (Upper Nine Mile River, NS) did not pass post race technical inspection. Nathan Blackburn (Timberlea, NS) was promoted to the podium finishing third with Josh Langille (Coldbrook, NS) and Tanton Wooldridge (Summerside, PE) completing the top five in the 21 car field.
Mahar, Langille and Noble took home EIT Race Radios Heat Race victories. Gilby was the top Cross Roads Rookie of the Year contender of 11 in the field. The CKG Elevator 50 presented by Samuel, Son and Co. featured a single yellow flag and took 19 minutes to complete.

The Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends Tour heads to Prince Edward Island next Saturday, July 2nd for Round Five of the 2022 season. The first of two appearances this season at Oyster Bed Speedway has a post time of 4pm.
