(Petitcodiac, NB) Since the Atlantic Modified Tour began running at Petty International Raceway in 2011, Four-Time series champion Mike Raeburn has been one of the drivers to beat.
This season has been an up-and-down rollercoaster year for the Hampton, NB driver as he was winless before Saturday. After putting 100 hours of work into the car after the Caleb Dunn Memorial on August 3, Raeburn’s hopes finally became reality as he scored his first win of the season on the high banks, beating a hard charging Tom Betts and point leader Brandon Skidmore to the checkers.
All season, the winner has had a 4 or a 75 on the side of the car and Raeburn made sure that he broke the streak Saturday night.
Raeburn took the lead from veteran competitor Ken Deveau on a lap 5 restart and never looked back as he dominated the remainder of the event, which complimented the Parts For Trucks Pro Stock Tour and Atlantic Tiltload Maritime League of Legends events.
Doug Matchett and Cody Price rounded out the top 5. Matchett and Tom Betts took heat race wins.
The 35 lap feature was slowed three times for cautions and took just over a half hour to complete. The next Atlantic Modified Tour event will be August 29 at Speedway Miramichi.
