Racing resumes at Speedway 660 this Saturday night at 6:30 with the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter 40. After taking the New Brunswick Day Holiday Weekend off, fans and race teams are anxious to return to the Geary Woods for a busy month of action.
“The Sharp Shooter 40 is going to be exciting because these little four cylinder, front-wheel drive cars usually race a 15 lap feature and the extra 25 laps will put a lot of pressure on the drivers and their machines” said Speedway 660’s Max Roy. “This is our fastest growing division and we’re used to seeing 20 plus Sharp Shooters every week, so this will be a fun race to watch.”
Fans will also see championship point racing in the Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock, Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman, DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock and West Wood Estates Bandolero divisions. It is guaranteed to be another great evening of racing at Speedway 660.
“The Sharp Shooter 40 kicks off a busy month of racing for us and we’ll have lots of great entertainment for our fans every weekend until we wrap up the season in early September” said Roy. “After this weekend we’ve got some pretty big events scheduled for our stretch run including: the Sportsman Firecracker 150, Fan Appreciation Night, the Night of Champions and the Irving Blending and Packaging SpeedWeekend.”
Ticket prices for Saturday’s Sharp Shooter 40 are $14; Youth tickets, for kids between eight and 16, are $10 and; Family Passes for two adults and two youths are $38. Admission is always free for fans seven and under.
There is no rain date for this event. If the weather is unsettled on Saturday morning fans and race teams should call the race line at 506-454-7223 or visit www.speedway660.com for race day status updates.
Coming up on Saturday, August 15th, the Firecracker 150 highlights action at Speedway 660. Dave O’Blenis won the Martin’s Home Heating 100, the first big Sportsman race of the season, back on June 6th.
Speedway 660 is one of Canada’s premier stock car racing facilities. Located in New Brunswick’s Fredericton region, it attracts race teams and fans from the Maritimes, New England and Quebec. The Speedway 660 racing season runs from mid May until Labour Day Weekend. SpeedWeekend 2015, one of the most prestigious short track events in eastern North America, wraps up Speedway 660’s racing season.
