Speedway Miramichi Results – June 20th

Track Release
Great win for local Doug Matchett #75 in the Atlantic Modified Tour wheeling that car in front of his local fans to win the feature. These guys are on the move with this division… Clean side by side racin’ with real heated passion to race.
Eastern Super Mini Cups put on the best show they have every had in the CHI with all competitors on their game and ready to put on a great show including “Greedy Groovy” in the #2 Mini cup of Chris Wilson pushin’ all he had in the final laps to make sure that winner #88 Matt Watson had to work for his win in the ESMC division. Great Job Mini Cups!
Historically the entertainment value must have been good as the die hard Miramichi Fans stuck out a show that we feel should have been 1/2hr shorter. Great thanks to the supporters of the fans for CHI and the speedway as the season opener went well with a very nice crowd count.
#80 Conrad Maillet Hache proved he was here to win as usual taking home the Road Rage Demolition $1000 first prize finale. Holding off #28 Lionel Brea, the man who has “no fear” after his very critical heat race accident last season was back in competition. The 3rd place toss up went to #04 Robert Leger as he was still moving and running to hand on to 3rd place as he was simply “stuck” in the infield. The word out there is that Kevin Lee and Jean Francois will be back soon to make sure he will work for his title for the wild demolition competitions.
Timmy Blakely #23 from local Miramichi held off out of town hard hitters to gain a points lead in the mini stock division followed by #0 Rob Porier and #81 of Jr Lawson.
Moncton’s #85 Kenny Jr. showed that the youth can use their head and be patient with the less than 10 laps to go waited for everyone to settle out and put on a spectacular show ( even with a small car count ) to win the Street Stock Feature and lead the points going into the next event, followed by #02 Craig Ward and #54 James Matchett.
The KING of Burnouts for the night was Ben Robichaud with his heavy Chevy pick up. Spread the word … were building a bigger burnout pad for the burnout competition!
A True Thank YOU! for all CHI’ fans and supporters, you have proven that we grow even after 2 years!
