Scotia Speedworld Hosts Fanfest Friday Night

(HALIFAX, NS – June 9th, 2015) – This Friday, June 12th, Scotia Speedworld hosts FanFest. FanFest, which serves as Round Two on the 2015 Weekly Racing Series, is a salute to the incredible fans that make the trip to Scotia Speedworld every Friday night to cheer on their favorite drivers. Grandstand admission is free for this special event if you pick up a 2015 FanFest ticket at one of our participating sponsors. (list of locations below)
The event will kick off at 7:00pm with an autograph session with the stars of Atlantic Canada’s biggest Weekly Racing Series. The racing card will get underway at 7:30pm with qualifying heats and main feature action in the Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros, Coors Light Trucks, Strictly Hydraulics Legends, Chickenburger Thunder, and Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman divisions. Throughout the night, fans will also be treated to giveaways from various Scotia Speedworld sponsors.
Last Friday night saw the opening round of the Weekly Racing Series for 2015. Josh Langille (Coldbrook) and Braden Langille (Shubenacadie) each took Hydraulics Plus Bandolero features for their age group. Along with Braden Langille, Dan Smith (Lower Sackville) and Dave Matthews (Kennetcook) each began their championship defenses in the Coors Light Truck and Chickenburger Thunder divisions, respectively, with a stop in victory lane. Freshman driver Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB) took home the Strictly Hydraulics Legends victory while Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour point leader Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro) picked up the checkered flag in the Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman Series. These five divisions will all be in action Friday during the racing portion of Fanfest.

Scotia Speedworld (SSW) is a 3/10-mile asphalt oval racing facility. SSW is the only track in Nova Scotia to host a weekly racing series, which runs May through September and features six different classes of racecars.
