(River Glade, NB – May 27th, 2015) – Petty International Raceway roars to life for the second time in 2015 this Saturday, May 30th when the track plays host to the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. Touted as one of the top regional, Late Model type touring series in Canada, Petty International Raceway will host the series three times in 2015, the first of which is the Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 100. Atlantic Tiltload Time Trial qualifying for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will take place at 5:10pm on Saturday, with racing slated for a 6pm start.
Three New Brunswick drivers will successfully look to defend their home turf on Saturday evening. Tim Rodgers (Upper Coverdale) and Ken MacKenzie Sr. (Salisbury) call Petty International Raceway home throughout the season and will be in the 100-lap feature on Saturday. They will be joined by Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour driver Sarah McKay (Quispamsis) to make at least three home province drivers that have signaled intentions that they will be in the field Saturday.
The Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 100 is the second of 12 races on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour for 2015. Last week, Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) edged out Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) and Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) to take the first race of the season at Scotia Speedworld outside of Halifax, NS. All three are former winners at Petty International Raceway and will be looking to reclaim former glory on Saturday night. For complete series information, visit MaritimeProStockTour.com.
Playing support to the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Saturday evening is three of Petty International Raceway’s track divisions – the Leisure Days/CRC RV Bandoleros, Mister Transmission Mini Stocks and NAPA CMax Street Stocks. All three divisions raced during the LaFarge Aggregates and Concrete Season Opener on Saturday, May 16th with Braden Langille (Shubenacadie, NS), Mike Edwards (Penobsquis) and Gary Tingley (Salisbury) taking their first Petty International Raceway feature wins of the season. All three, along with dozens of others, will be making the trek to the track on Saturday in an effort to hold the checkered flag. Combined with the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour, all four classes provide unique brands of short track racing and each is eager to perform for the Moncton area fans on Saturday evening.
The Petty International Raceway Sportsman division will have the evening off but will return for the Saturday, July 11th card as a part of Moncton’s Atlantic Nationals weekend.
Tickets for the Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 100 can be purchased at the Petty International Raceway gate on race day.
