TCM Maritime Agenda: #TCMOpeningWeekend, May 15th to 17th
The Maritime Agenda is back for another season!
Appearing late in the week, the agenda combines all info that has been sent into TimsCorner.ca all in one place. Looking for race day formats, admission prices, maybe a storyline or two to follow? We have them here as provided to us by the speedways in competition on the weekend.
Don’t see the event you are looking for or don’t see the info you are searching for? Contact the track in question – if we don’t have it here then we don’t have it from the track!

TCM Notes: Petty International Raceway will open their season on Saturday and will be the first in the region to wave the green flag on competition in 2015. While the competition will be tight in all six divisions that will go green on Saturday, we may also see a total change of the guard with all six champions either moving on or moving to a part-time role in their respective 2014 division. Atlantic Modified champion Ryan Messer will be moving to Sportsman, word on the street is that Pro Stock champion Chris Duncan may be skipping the season opener at Petty, Russell Smith Jr has indicated he will running the Sportsman class at Scotia Speedworld full time, Kenny MacKenzie Jr will dabble in Street Stock but his full time focus is the Sportsman car at Petty, JR Lawson has told TCM he will not be at Petty Raceway Saturday and Bandolero champion Cory Hall has moved to Legends. In the end, it leaves holes to be filled by those looking to cement their legacies in the sport on the high banked oval.
Speaking of MacKenzie, this will be the final full time season for Ken MacKenzie Sr. As indicated on his back bumper, he is going hard this season at the Pro Stock division but will hang the full time helmet up at the end of the season. Don’t call it a retirement though, you may see him in a car in 2016, but there will be no full time effort for the fan favorite from Salisbury.

TCM Notes: New Brunswick’s only race track offering racing weekly throughout the Summer opens with a full card of five divisions, including a growing Pro Stock division which sees Lonnie Sommerville and Greg Fahey returning to try to topple five time champion Dave O’Blenis.
The Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman division will include at least three rookies going at it for the top freshman honors, including Street Stock standout Justin Cole, Blackville teenage drag racer Braxton Stafford and reigning Atlantic Modified Tour titlist Ryan Messer. Veterans Richard Atkinson and Randy Moore are amongst the returnees to the class.
The race is the first for new Race Director Brent Dunphy, new flagman Tim Elliott and lead scorer Jessica White. The event also marks the dissolution of the “Dash” races for Pro Stock, Sportsman and Street Stocks. These 10 lap races have been essentially rolled into the feature, giving us 50, 40 and 30 lap races, respectively, for each of those classes.
