Petty Raceway Announces Open Practice, Tires for Sale, Daley and Brun to Tech Team

Petty Raceway made a slew of announcements Monday afternoon via their social media pages in regards to the opening of the 2015 season.

The track will host an open practice session from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday, May 9th for all divisions participating in the LaFarge Aggregates and Concrete Season Opener on Saturday, May 16th. Pit admission for the afternoon of practice is $10 per person, with the grandstands being open for spectators to watch, free of charge. Practices will run by class in 15 minute intervals, depending on car quantity.

Tires will be available at the track on Saturday afternoon. Pro Stock tires are $195 each, while Sportsman and Street Stock tires are $165.

One of the biggest announcements came with the unveiling of two new personnel in the technical inspection area at the track. Brad Daley and Gerald “Pitou” Brun will be overseeing Mini Stock and Street Stock race day technical inspection, beginning with the LaFarge Aggregates and Concrete Season Opener. Daley, nicknamed “Mr. Mastercard” following seasons of black quarter panels on his Mini Stock, has many victories in the class and has finished in the top three in the standings in the last two seasons. Brun brings years of experience in both the Mini Stock and Street Stock divisions and both will transition their experiences on the track and in the garage to the tech shed.

Petty Raceway’s LaFarge Aggregates and Concrete Season Opener will include the Leisure Days RV Bandoleros, Mister Transmission Mini Stocks, NAPA CMax Street Stocks, Sportsman, Petty Pro Stocks and the opening round for the Atlantic Modified Tour. Race fans can stay tuned for a complete preview of the season opener next week on, a part of #TCMOpeningWeekend presented by Dulux Paints Bayers Lake and MacKinnon’s Trucking.
