Track Release/Photo by McCarthy Photographic
(Dartmouth, NS – April 21th, 2015) The Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros and Strictly Hydraulics Legends will take centre stage at Scotia Speedworld on Friday, June 19th with extended distance races that will have more impact than just to the Scotia Speedworld points championship.
Legend and Bandolero cars are manufactured by U.S. Legend Cars International, Inc. and internationally sanctioned by INEX. INEX was developed to promote, organize and sanction Legend cars and Bandolero cars racing across the world.
The 50-lap Legends feature on Friday, June 19th is an INEX National Qualifier, which will not only count toward their season long point total towards a Scotia Speedworld Legend Car Championship, but will lock the winner into a provisional starting spot in the 2015 Asphalt Nationals. Last season, Cole Butcher of Porter’s Lake, Nova Scotia took an Asphalt Nationals qualifying spot earned at Scotia Speedworld and finished 12th in the Pro Feature at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The Bandolero feature will count towards their INEX National Championship and Scotia Speedworld championship points for each competitor in the field, and will feature the finest young talent in the Maritimes aged eight to 16 years. Braden Langille (Shubenacadie, Outlaw division) and Nathan Langille (Coldbrook, Beginner Bandit division) each recently returned from INEX Winter Nationals in Orlando, Florida with championship trophies – both of whom call Scotia Speedworld home throughout the summer and will look to take the checkered flag first in the prestigious event.
The Legend and Bandolero divisions have been staples on the Weekly Racing Series at Scotia Speedworld for a decade. Weekly Racing for the Legend class dates back to 2005, while the Bandolero class celebrates their tenth year at not only Scotia Speedworld, but in Canada, in 2015. Scotia Speedworld was the first venue in Canada to host Bandolero racing in 2006, with 2014 Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman Series runner-up DJ Casey (Prospect Road) taking the first Canadian championship nearly a decade ago.
The Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman Series will also be on the June 19th card with their first extended feature of the season. With 50-laps scheduled, the top drivers in the division will be out in full force to pocket a win in one of the most competitive Sportsman divisions in Atlantic Canada.
The 2015 season kicks-off at Scotia Speedworld with a double header weekend! Saturday, May 23rd at 4:00pm the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will officially open their 15th anniversary season with the Lucas Oil 100. Sunday, May 24th all of the Weekly Racing Series divisions will open their 2015 campaigns at 2:00pm.
