41st Annual Radical Speedsport Set For April 17th to 19th in Moncton

The annual kick-off to the Maritime racing season is upon us!

The Moncton Coliseum in Moncton, New Brunswick is the host for the 41st Annual Castrol Radical Speedsport car show and a number of Maritime series, tracks and teams, including Tim’s Corner Motorsports, will be represented in the show. The show, one of Canada’s largest high performance motorsports expos, runs from Friday, April 17th to Sunday, April 19th. This year, the show is a part of the International Show Car Association (ISCA) and the Summit Racing Show Car Series, so you best believe the competition that is set to hit Moncton this year is going to be better than ever!

There is something for everyone at this show, including a handful of Hollywood stars! With the recent release of Furious 7, the cars of Fast and Furious (pictured below) will be at the show for movie-goers to get a closer look at some of the vehicles used in the popular series.

Just announced for the show is the Saturday appearance of model and Disney star Peyton List. List plays Emma Ross on the Disney Channel series “Jessie”, played Holly Hills in “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” and had a role in the 2008 film “27 Dresses.” List will be at the show from 12pm to 3pm and again from 4pm to 6pm on Saturday.

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Famer Booker T will be at Radical Speedsport on Saturday from 3pm to 6pm, again from 7pm to 9pm and on Sunday from 12pm to 3pm. Booker T’s accomplishments are many and include the 2006 King of the Ring, a World Heavyweight Championship, a record six WCW World Television and ten WCW Tag Team Championships – and not to mention Booker T is a five time (five time, five time..) WCW champion.

Radical Speedsport hosts their second annual Pin-Up Contest, slated for Saturday, April 18th. Thirty-six contestants will be vying for the $1,500 in cash and prizes up for grabs. The preliminaries will be held in the afternoon with the finals taking place in the evening.

“Miss Castrol” is always a hit at Radical Speedsport, and this year she is a face familiar to Maritime race fans. Brandi Gray, who resides in Fredericton, New Brunswick, is one of the models featured in the 2015 McCarthy Photographic Pro Stock Tour calendar and has been selected for the “Miss Castrol” role for the upcoming show. Gray will be at the show all weekend meeting visitors and signing autographs. Castrol also presents the General Lee. The iconic orange Dodge, made famous on the Dukes of Hazzard television series, will also be at the show all weekend long.

The Moncton Miracles Dance Team will be performing throughout the weekend. If you’ve ever seen them on the court at the Moncton Coliseum, you know the energy and excitement they bring to every performance!

While “an entry list” of stock cars is currently unavailable, you can expect to see upward of a dozen cars at the show that are out of the snow and the race shop that are ready for 2015 competition. Included in the show is Brady Creamer’s Pro Stock (pictured, 2014 McCarthy Photographic photo) from Miramichi, New Brunswick. Creamer and his team from the North Shore always come prepared with a beautiful, show ready, race car and will be ready to show it off before getting some battle scars around the Maritime ovals.

Of course, you can check out Tim’s Corner Motorsports (TCM) all weekend at the show, where you can get up to speed on all the racing news and information from around the region. Once again, TCM partner Scotia Speedworld has given us two adult grandstand passes to their opening weekend on Saturday, May 23rd and Sunday, May 24th to give away. Their first weekend of racing in Halifax, Nova Scotia features the opening rounds of the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour, Maritime League of Legends Tour and the six division Weekly Racing Series over the two days of racing. The folks at iRacing Motorsports Simulations have also given us a $25 iRacing Gift Code to give away as a part of our draw along with the Scotia Speedworld tickets. The draw is free, and all you have to do is stop by our booth and fill out a ballot. Winner will be drawn at the end of the show on Sunday and will be announced Monday via our social media platforms.

You can also pick up a free, 3-month iRacing.com subscription (good for new accounts only) at our booth, along with pocket schedules for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and “buy one, get one free” admission tickets to Scotia Speedworld, valid for grandstand admission on any Friday night show in June or July.

Drivers are invited to stop by, chat with Tim for Tim’s Corner Unplugged, which will be making a return with “Speedsport Edition” on Thursday, April 23rd. We will also have our “signature banner” for all drivers, teams, track/series sponsors and officials to sign throughout the weekend. Banners collected will go towards benefits, displays, etc. as they arise.

TCM’s trip to Radical Speedsport is made possible, in part, by St. Louis Bar and Grill on Mountain Road in Moncton, the Atlantic Motel in nearby Berry Mills and TCM Print Partner Finish Line Vinyl Design. A big thanks to Greg Turner and all his wonderful staff for putting on yet another wonderful production this year.

The show opens at 2pm on Friday and runs Friday from 2pm to 10pm, Saturday from 10am to 10pm and Sunday from 10am to 6pm. For the latest and complete information on the show, please visit SpeedSportEast.com.
