2015 Schedule Sees New Start Time For Geary, NB’s Speedway 660

The fourth Maritime race track in as many days has released their 2015 schedule. This time, Geary, New Brunswick’s Speedway 660 has posted dates for their upcoming season, the 22nd for the track.

While many things stay the same for the track, including starting in May at their traditional Sunday at 2pm time slot before moving to Saturday nights in June, the Saturday night start time has been changed to 6:30pm. In previous seasons, the Westwood Estate Apartment Bandolero and Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter divisions have ran their heats prior to the start time. This year, when the invocation is given and the national anthems are sung, racing in all divisions will start promptly at 6:30pm.

Three Sunday afternoon races kick off the schedule, with racing on May 17th, May 24th and May 31st. The schedule then switches to Saturday evenings with a 6:30pm post time from June 6th, all the way to the Night of Champions on August 29th with the exception of the first weekend of August, which has been a longstanding off-weekend for the track.

Labour Day weekend, Friday, September 4th to Monday, September 7th, will once again play host to Speedweekend. The schedule sees the Corn Boil and Kickoff Concert on Friday, September 4th at 7pm, followed by two days of intense stock car racing, highlighted by the Sportsman 150 on Saturday, September 5th at 6:30pm and the Pro Stock 250 on Sunday, September 6th at 2pm. The weekend comes to a close with the Championship Enduro 200 on Monday, September 7th at 2pm. Support classes for Saturday and Sunday are to be announced as the season draws closer.

The Enduro division will contest three races once again this season. The season opening event will be on Sunday, June 14th at 2pm, followed by the “Under the Lights” show on Saturday, July 18th at 6:30pm and capped by their Speedweekend event on Monday, September 7th at 2pm.

Each division in the Weekly Point Racing series will see extended races throughout the season. The Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman class will run a 100-lap show on Saturday, June 20th and their annual Firecracker 150 on Saturday, August 15th. The DMR Auto Sales and Service Street Stockers will have a 75 lap event on Saturday, July 11th, along with a 50 lap event on Saturday, June 27th. The June 27th event will also feature a 50-lap for the Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters, which runs in conjunction with the Pioneer Days events in nearby Oromocto. The Westwood Estates Bandoleros will “blast off” for their Bandolero Blast 25 on Sunday, May 31st.

The Pro Stock division, presented by RE/MAX Group Four Realty, will see their annual “Best of the Best 150” event go green on Saturday, July 25th. The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will be at Speedway 660 for their only stop in the Geary woods on Saturday, July 4th. Speedway officials continue to work with the Pro All Stars Series, hopeful the American touring series will return on their traditional early June date.
