Pro Stocks Power Into Final Round of #PettyFanChoice

The “new kids on the block” are the final ones to take to the #PettyFanChoice stage in 2014.

The Pro Stock division ran its inaugural season at Petty International Raceway this past Summer and within the four race showdown for points at the track, it came down to the final laps for the championship between Chris Duncan and Ken MacKenzie with the #97 car edging out the #85 by a slim two point margin. Dave O’Blenis was also in the hunt until the end, but fell four points short of the track title.

Twelve teams ran in the first season that the division was offered at the River Glade, New Brunswick and with all twelve teams running at least half of the point races, all are eligible for the #PettyFanChoice Awards for the class.

While this is the first year for the Pro Stock class in the #PettyFanChoice Awards, there are some popular heavyweights when it comes to the vote. Duncan is a TCM Best of Maritime Awards finalist for 2014 in the Best Looking Car and Most Popular Driver Awards, as is Sarah McKay with the #32 taking the TCM Most Popular Driver Award this season. Jason Carnahan’s #55 was also a finalist in the Finish Line Vinyl Design Best Looking Car Award for TCM in 2014. Dave O’Blenis is the #PettyFanChoice Most Popular Driver for Sportsman from last season.

The Pro Stock class is the final division to take their run in the 2014 #PettyFanChoice Awards, which officially wraps up on Monday, January 5th, 2015. Winners will be announced at the Petty International Raceway banquet at the Petitcodiac Legion on Saturday, January 17th, 2015.
