Street Stocks Take the Green Flag for #PettyFanChoice Awards!
One of the most exciting classes of stock car racing at Petty International Raceway now has their time to shine as the Street Stocks are now in the #PettyFanChoice spotlight!
Nine point races saw 32 different teams take part in at least one event, with seven of those participating in over 50% (five) of those races. A strong start by Kenny Mackenzie Jr., combined with the consistency of Alexandra O’Blenis and a steady charge to the finish by Mike Duskey of Prince Edward Island, made for a very exciting point race on track with the #85 car taking away the point championship. Of note, Mackenzie Jr never finished outside the top five in the nine races on the season.
Mackenzie also took home the Most Popular Driver Award in 2013 by 39 votes, after taking the lead from his girlfriend Alexandra O’Blenis in the final day of voting. O’Blenis got the leg up on Mackenzie in the Best Looking Car Award, taking home the award to Boundary Creek, NB.
Voting for the Street Stock division runs until December 22nd, when the NAPA CMax Paint and Body Supplies Sportsman class will take centre stage over the holiday season!
