Champions Crowned at Oyster Bed Sunday
OFFICIAL RESULTS AND POINT STANDINGS ARE BELOW!
Robbie MacEwen is back on top of the world at Oyster Bed Speedway.
MacEwen, of Sherwood, is now a two-time Central Engine Services Late Model champion after taking the 2014 title on the strength of six feature wins on the season. The #40 Ralph’s Auto Services Chevrolet was second in the final feature of the season on Sunday, behind veteran Darrell Ford and in front of sophomore Brandon Snow.
Kris Fournier, the 2013 champion, came in with a long shot at MacEwen but would wind up second in the standings.
Troy Burke dominated a caution free 50-lap Clean it All Street Stock Super Series event, but it was Mark MacLean capturing the Stella Maris Credit Union Street Stock championship over Alex Sheehan. Joel Hickox and Nick Chaisson completed the top three in the feature.
While Harley Cornish crossed the line first on Sunday, a post race technical infraction gave Jillian Gregory her second consecutive feature win in the Chris’s Bobcat Services Four Fun division. While official results are unavailable, we can tell you Charles Woolaver’s second place finish in the action packed feature was good enough to seal the deal to win the track championship in the class.
Results for the Duffy’s Service Centre Outlaw division were unofficial pending post race technical inspection. Tech staff did tell us the #45 car, driven by James Doucette in the feature and split on the season by Doucette and Kendall Palmer, failed post race technical inspection after the race. A champion and race winner had not been announced and is expected Tuesday when results are released. Tyler MacLean entered the day second in the standings.
