Champions Crowned at Centre For Speed Sunday

Shediac, NB – Shediac’s CFS completed the 4th and final round of the Maritime Super Series of Racing here on Sunday afternoon. Teams from as far as Shubenacadie, Saint John, Fredericton, PEI and the Miramichi were on hand to compete.
In the Sportsman Division it was Bert Cormier who took the Championship title, his first ever, while Dan Duke won his first feature since 1997! Keith Daley of Bathurst placed second in the feature while Dawson McIntee was of Moncton placed third. Bert Cormier won the Heat and the Semi.
In Street Stock it was “Big Bad Brad” MacLean out of Black River who took the Championhship while fellow Miramichi Driver Joel Clancy won the Feature followed by Jeffrey McInnis of PEI and Bob Prosser of Moncton in third.The heat was won by Prosser, in his first outing in a Street Stock and James Matchett of Miramichi won the Semi.
In Mini Stock it was JR Lawson from Shubenacadie, NS who took the Heat and Semi as well as the overall Series Title for Mini Stock but it was Patti Taylor who won the feature. Her first ever and while her children watched her for the first time ever from the Grandstands.
Finally, in Mini Cup action it was Amanda Wheatley of PEI winning the Feature followed by Derek Goodwin and Chris Wilson. Wheatly also won the Heat.
The next event at CFS is the Atlantic Stock Car Championships on Oct 3 – 5th. Monster Trucks visit the CENTRE on Oct 18th and 19th.
