Emily Meehan to Make Pro Stock Tour Debut Saturday in Dartmouth Dodge 200

(Halifax, NS. Sept 8th, 2014) – “Miss Rawdon Rocket” is set to take flight on Saturday, September 13th as Emily Meehan makes her Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour debut in the Dartmouth Dodge 200 at Scotia Speedworld.

Meehan, a multiple-time Bandolero and Legend feature winner at Scotia Speedworld, will slide behind the wheel of the #75 Dexter Construction, Municipal Group, Archibald Drilling and Blasting Chevrolet SS, owned and overseen by Maritime Motorsports Hall of Famer Stephen Henderson. Meehan will be a teammate to two-time series champion and defending Dartmouth Dodge 200 winner Shawn Turple of Enfield, Nova Scotia.

“I am very excited and grateful for this opportunity,” said Meehan of her Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour debut. “Our goal is to stay out of trouble over 200-laps and enjoy ourselves. I want to thank everyone who helped to make this possible!”

Meehan has a vast resume in stock car racing in this region. The 19 year old is the 2013 runner-up on the Maritime League of Legends Tour, owns a trio of wins on Scotia Speedworld’s Strictly Hydraulics Legends and is the inaugural Speedway 660 (NB) Speedweekend Bandolero champion. With one race to go in the Scotia Speedworld Strictly Hydraulics Legends season, she sits fourth in the point standings while she occupies third in the Maritime League of Legends Tour standings with one event remaining on the series.

Meehan follows in the footsteps of fellow Bandolero and Legend graduates from Scotia Speedworld who have found themselves in a Pro Stock on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. Among those who have taken the same path as Meehan include 2014 Atlantic Cat 250 champion Dylan Blenkhorn, Cole Butcher, Brad Eddy. Blenkhorn, Butcher and Eddy are expected to join Meehan in the field Saturday for the 200-lap event.

The Dartmouth Dodge 200 serves as the season finale for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour on the 2014 season. The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is the highest competition of stock car racing in Eastern Canada and is touted as one of the most prestigious stock car touring series in the country. Playing support for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour on Saturday is the Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman Series, which will see the curtain drop on their 2014 season with a 50-lap finale. Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will begin at 3:10pm with the green flag dropping on racing at 4pm.

For those that cannot make it to Scotia Speedworld on Saturday night, Race Time Radio will stream the race live, worldwide, on RaceTimeRadio.com. Coverage is slated to begin at 3pm Atlantic.

Meehan will wrap up her Strictly Hydraulics Legends season Friday night as a part of “Finale Friday” for the Scotia Speedworld Weekly Racing Series. Five divisions, including the Legends, will crown point champions on the 3/10-mile oval. Racing action begins at 7pm on Friday.

Tickets for both nights of racing can be purchased at the gate on race day. Plenty of camping space is available on site, free of charge. For more information on the event or facility, please visit ScotiaSpeedworld.ca or download the “Scotia Speedworld” app, found on all Smartphone platforms.
