Re/Max 250 at Speedway 660 Boasts 37 Car Expected Entry List!

The Re/Max 250 is shaping up to be one of the biggest races in Atlantic Canada this season.

Sure, there’s a big purse. The $15,000-to-win payday for the winner is the biggest in Atlantic Canada. Add in $12,500 in lap money, the Modern Electric $1,500 halfway and any other contingency awards that could be thrown in, the winner could walk out with upwards of $29,000 on Sunday, August 31st.

Question is – who will be the one that will walk away the winner? That could be one of 35 drivers right now.

That’s right – with a week and a half left prior to the 250, 35 teams have ordered tires for the event.

*Note – Eric St. Gelais adds one more to the entry list, boosting it to 36.

*Speedway 660 has confirmed Robert Tomlinson as a 37th entry to the Re/Max 250.

The entry list is steep with talent, including reigning Oxford 250 winner Travis Benjamin, multi-time PASS champions Ben Rowe and Johnny Clark, four time Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour champion John Flemming, three time Tour titlist and defending Re/Max 250 champion Shawn Tucker, Speedway 660 Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock point leader and ’13 champ Dave O’Blenis, young guns Cole Boudreau, Alicia Mowat, Dana Hamm and leading Parts for Trucks Tour Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year Sarah McKay. Add in the likes of former Re/Max 250 champions Cassius Clark, Kirk Thibeau and Craig Slaunwhite and NASCAR Nationwide Series driver and ARCA Series race winner Austin Theriault, and you have a small snapshot of the talent that will be at Speedway 660 on Sunday, August 31st.

Keep in mind, with a week and a half to go prior to the event, this list is subject to change and could very well grow before the green flag flies, but these are the teams that have tire orders in as of August 19th.

Laps are still available to purchase for the event. As of 4:30pm on Tuesday, August 19th, Wanda has 36 laps still to sell. For more information, contact Wanda at at (506) 455-3181, the race office at (506) 454-7223 or email info@speedway660.com and say you want to buy a lap, or laps, on the Re/Max 250 leaderboard.

Do you have your tickets purchased and campsites booked? Don’t worry, there is still time to do both! Call the office at (506) 454-7223 or email info@speedway660.com to do either of those – but don’t delay, they will be going fast!

The weekend kicks off on Friday, August 29th with the Re/Max Group Four Realty Concert featuring Tristan Horncastle and Harvey’s Farm Corn Boil. The racing action goes green Saturday, August 30th with the Irving Oil Blending & Packaging Sportsman 150,  Westwood Estate Apartment Bandolero and the return of the Atlantic Modified Tour to Speedway 660. Sunday is the big one, the Re/Max 250 for the Pro Stocks, along with the DMR Auto Sales and Service Street Stock and Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters divisions. Monday, September 1st sees the final racing event of the season at Speedway 660 – the Enduro 200 championship event!

Without further adieu..
