Lawson Takes Third CENTRE For Speed Win of Season

Shediac, NB – Shediac’s CFS  completed round 3 for the Maritime Super Series of Racing Saturday Night.  Teams from as far as Nova Scotia, Saint John, and Miramichi were on hand to compete. In the Sportsman Division it was defending Atlantic Stock Car Sportsman Champ Remi Gaudet of Grand Barachois taking the win in his #22 machine over returning 30 year stock car racing veteran Dan Duke of Lakeville  and Super Series points leader Bert Cormier of Bouctouche.    Gaudet also won the Semi and heat coming from the back in each event to take the wins.
In Street Stock it was “Big Bad Brad” MacLean out of Black River, with the grand slam once again over Saint John’s Kevin Hartley who took second in the feature, respectively.  MacLean’s son Axton was the Grand Marshall who dropped the Green Flag on the feature events.
Last but not least, it was JR Lawson from Shubenacadie, NS who took the semi and feature races in the Mini Stock Division.  Eldon Campbell of Moncton won the heat.  Campbell was second in the feature and lady competitor Patti Taylor rounded out the top three in a markedly improved and very competitive outing for the young lady from Salisbury.
In Car Wars action it was a wild night of entertainment starting with the Barrell Race which was won by #169 Conrad Maillet Hache of Tracadie-Shelia, NB.  Gabriel Girouard of Bouctouche won the Nuts on Wheels Full Contact race in his trusty #28 and Cody Marks of Shediac also continued his winning streak in the 77.7 car tasking the Race in Reverse.  The Demolition Derby was taken by Car Wars regular #88 Stephane Poirier of Saint Marie de Kent who outlasted Gabriel Girouard’s #28 and Trent Silliker of Miramichi in his #69 in third.
Therunning time for the double header event was 3 hours and 4 minutes.  The next event at the CENTRE is on Thursday, August 21st at 7 PM including Street Drags, Time Attack Slalom, Burnouts and more.  All street legal cars are welcome to compete.
