Parts for Trucks Tour to Speedway 660 on Saturday

TRACK RELEASE

Dylan Blenkhorn is a teenager on a mission. Blenkhorn comes into the Geary Woods this weekend looking for a third straight win on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. But the competition will be stiff when the tour drivers roll into Speedway 660 for the Irving Oil Blending and Packaging 100 at 7 o’clock this Saturday night.

“Dylan, a 19 year old kid from Truro, was our rookie of the year in 2013 and he has really stepped up this season to be a dominate force on our tour” said Tim Terry, Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour announcer. “Dylan knows Speedway 660 is one of the toughest tracks in the Maritimes, but I think he is ready to challenge last year’s race winner John Flemming as well as Shawn Tucker, the rest of our tour drivers and any Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock drivers who suit up for the race.”

Blenkhorn comes to Speedway 660 in fifth place in the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour standings. He’s just 21 points behind point leader John Flemming, who won the Irving Oil Blending and Packaging 100 and tour championship in 2013. Greg Proude, Shawn Tucker and Shawn Turple are 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the tour point parade.

The Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials run at 6:10PM, followed by the King Freight Dash at 7PM. Fans will also see intense racing in the DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock and Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman Divisions. The Street Stocks will run a 20 lap feature and the Sportsman will run a 30 lap feature.

“This is one of our biggest races of the year and we are excited to welcome the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour teams for the Irving Oil Blending and Packaging 100” said Speedway 660’s Max Roy. “We expect a few of our weekly Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock drivers to enter the race, so that will make things interesting for our fans plus our Street Stock and Sportsman drivers always put on a great show when the tour comes to town.”

Adult ticket prices for the Irving Oil Blending and Packaging 100 are $25; Youth tickets, for kids between 8 and 15 are $15 dollars; the family Pass for two adults and two youths is $65 and; admission is free for Speedway 660’s youngest race fans, seven and under.

The rain date for the Irving Oil Blending and Packaging 100 is Sunday at 2PM. If the weather is unsettled on Saturday, fans and race teams are encouraged to call the Speedway 660 race line at 506-454-7223 or visit www.speedway660.com for race day status updates.

Speedway 660 is one of Canada’s premier stock car racing facilities. Located in New Brunswick’s Fredericton region, it attracts race teams and fans from the Maritimes, Maine and Quebec. The Speedway 660 racing season runs from mid May until Labour Day Weekend. SpeedWeekend 2014, one of the most prestigious short track events in eastern North America, is always a fitting way to wrap up Speedway 660’s racing season.
