PHOTO GALLERY: Wild Ride for Randy Millar and Tyler Gauthier at OBS

There have been some scary wrecks in the past few seasons in the Late Model division at Oyster Bed Speedway. We had pictures here of last year’s wild ride for rookie Brandon Snow as he ended up on his roof after riding the backstraight wall and snapping a light pole. Last August, Kris Fournier and Darrell Ford had a scary wreck that nearly ended both of their seasons.
Enter Saturday night.
Randy Millar and Tyler Gauthier were both running for position in a qualifying event when the two came together, sending Gauthier’s car airborne off Millar’s #77 Dodge Charger. The #11 ended up back down on two wheels, with the other two wheels planted on Millar’s Dodge, including the right front of Gauthier’s Late Model, which was through the windshield of Millar’s car.
Both drivers emerged from their cars without a scratch, though that can’t be said for their Late Models. Crews clambered to the cars in the pit area and when the green flag flew for the feature, Millar’s car was ready to roll thanks to dozens of pit crew members from many different crews. Millar finished eighth in the feature to keep himself within the championship chase.
Marlie Paynter has sent us some photos of the wreck and the ensuing work afterward on the #77 car. If you are looking to purchase copies of these photos, get in contact with Marlie. Thanks again for sharing these!
