Pro Stock Tour Heads to Riverside for Ron MacGillivray 150

Series release

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is heading to the high banks of Riverside International Speedway this Saturday, June 14th for the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150.  This will be the first event of the season for the track located just outside of Antigonish in James River, NS and round three of 12 for the popular stock car racing series. Grandstand gates for the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 open at 2:00 PM; Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials will get underway at 5:10 PM with racing slated for 6:00 PM.

Hometown favourites Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) and George Koszkulics (New Glasgow, NS) will both be drivers to watch on Saturday. Chisholm won the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 last season and in 2011. Chisholm and has four wins to his name at his home track. Koszkulics knows how to get around the 1/3 mile high banked oval and snapped a long winless streak at Riverside at the end of the 2011 season. Shawn Tucker (Fredericton, NB) picked up a pair of wins last season at Riverside Speedway and will certainly be a threat on Saturday evening when the green flag flies. These three will have to battle 25 or so other talented teams from across the Maritimes if they wish to return to victory lane this Saturday.

The championship points picture got a shake-up following the Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 100 held at Petty Raceway on May 31st. Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE) took home his first victory of the season which vaulted him from eighth in points to second, just 10 points behind current series champion John Flemming (Halifax, NS). Rounding out the top five in points are Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) who won the season opener, Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake) who scored his first Pro Stock Tour podium with a third place finish at Petty two weeks ago and Shawn Tucker who will be looking to make it three consecutive wins at Riverside International Speedway this Saturday night.

Opening the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 is the Napa Sportsman Series who will be kicking off their season with the Highland Home Building Centre 50 lap feature.
