SPORTSMAN: 1:1 Drivetrain Option Weight Penalty Reduced to 50lbs
A note was released to Maritime Sportsman competitors late Wednesday night via websites of Speedway 660 and Petty Raceway in regards to the 1:1 Drivetrain Option weight penalty. Prior to the season, teams that opted to go 1:1 would be assessed an 100 pound penalty to their race cars, which has since been revised to 50 pounds.
The bulletin reads as follows:
IMPORTANT NOTICE!RULES AMENDMENTMaritime Sportsman CompetitorsAfter extensive competition research it has been determined by the Maritime Sportsman Rules committee that the current 100 lb. penalty applied to the 1:1 drivetrain option will be reduced to 50 lb.
