O’Blenis Motorsports Rules at Speedway 660
Track Release
Courtney, Alexandra and Dave O’Blenis combined to make six visits to the Riverview Ford Victory Lane at Speedway 660 on Saturday night. Dave won the Jensen Financial Hat Trick Award by taking the checkers in his Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock Division heat race, dash and feature. Courtney won the Westwood Estate Apartments Bandolero heat and feature, while Alexandra won a Martins Home Heating Sportsman heat race.
“I am so proud of my daughters tonight, Courtney was awesome in her Bandolero car and I know it was a big thrill for Alex to get her first win this early in her Sportsman rookie season” said a jubilant Dave O’Blenis, from victory lane. “My daughters inspired me to go all out in the Pro Stock feature tonight and I’m glad I was able to hold on for the win and want to thank our crew for working so hard to bring three competitive cars to the track each week.”
For the second week in a row Derek Christie and Kevin Moore finished second and third in the Pro Stock feature. Brian Gillespie won the other heat race. Rookie Cole Boudreau came home fourth for his best Pro Stock finish of the year.
While it was an incredible night for Team O’Blenis at Speedway 660, there was an unbelievable ending to the Martins Home Heating Sportsman Division feature. Rookie Dawson McIntee raced through a last lap wreck to claim the victory and at 15 became the youngest driver ever to win a Sportsman feature.“I don’t know what to say, I’m not really sure what just happened out there, all I know is we’re here in victory lane” said a shocked McIntee. “This is awesome, I want to thank my sponsors, family and crew members for making it possible for me to move up from Bando this year and we just won the Martins Home Heating Sportsman feature at Speedway 660!”
Greg Fahey drove home second, while Matt Rodgers finished third in the Sportsman feature. Alexandra O’Blenis, who was involved in the last lap wreck, crossed the line sideways in fourth position. O’Blenis and Rodgers won the heat races, while Billy Sommerville won the Sportsman dash.
T.J. “Hollywood” Madore was on the top of his game at Speedway 660 on Saturday night. T.J. picked up a Jensen Financial Hat Trick Award by winning the DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock heat, dash and feature. Rob Raynes and Roger Slocum finished second and third in the feature, while rookie Andre Chamberlain won the other heat.
The Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter Division drivers saw some sparks fly. Jeremy Doran ended up his roof and Randy Campbell got the black flag. When the smoke and dust cleared, Ira Farnell claimed the Sharp Shooter feature over Neil Miousse and rookie Kyle Boudreau. Farnell and Doran won the heat races.
Courtney O’Blenis took the feature and heat race in the Westwood Estate Apartments Bandolero Division. Cole Tanner came home second for the second week in a row, while MacKenzie Brewer followed up his third place a week ago with another third on Saturday night.
Next Saturday night Speedway 660 is proud to present one of the biggest races of the Maritime short track season. The Pro All Star Series Super Late Models will be in the Geary Woods for their only Maritime appearance of 2014. In addition to the PASS North 150, race fans will also see action in the Martins Home Heating Sportsman Division and DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock Division.
