Speedway 660 Gears Up for Point Racing Saturday Night
It’s still early in the season, but never too soon for race teams to start building momentum in the Speedway 660 championship point standings. This Saturday evening, drivers in all five weekly divisions will be back in action in the Geary Woods for week two of the local short-track racing season.
“We got off to a great start to 2014 last Saturday and fans saw incredible performances from Justin Cole and Steve Halpin in the Riverview Ford season opener” said Speedway 660’s Max Roy. “This weekend the weather will be warmer and the action is bound to heat up too as the drivers in our five weekly divisions go all out in pursuit of championship points.”
Cole won his heat, dash and feature in last weekend’s DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stock Division. Halpin did the same thing in the Re/Max Group Four Realty Pro Stock Division to claim the Jensen Financial hat-trick award. In addition to seeing the Street Stocks and Pro Stocks race this Saturday evening, fans will be treated to action in the West Wood Estate Apartments Bandolero, Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooter and Martins Home Heating Sportsman Divisions.
“We are proud of Speedway 660’s brand of racing and our five incredible divisions showcase some of eastern North America’s most talented drivers” Roy said. “Our three hour race card is jam packed with high speed, short track action that thrills fans of all ages, so we encourage everyone to come see our drivers put on a show this Saturday night.”
Sportsman, Pro Stock and Street Stock heat races get underway Saturday at 7PM, but fans are encouraged to come early to see the Bando and Sharp Shooter heats at 6:20.
The evening will wrap up with 20 lap Street Stock, 30 lap Sportsman and 40 lap Pro Stock feature races.
