Amherst native wins championship title at INEX Winter Heat Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway
Kannapolis, NC – Amherst, Nova Scotia’s Ryan Mackintosh drove to the front of the pack and to a championship win in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sunday. The 16 year old won the last two events of the INEX Winter Heat Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway and took home the Legend Car Semi-Pro Championship in the process.
Mackintosh, a product of the Maritime karting and Bandolero scene, picked up his most prestigious title to date with the INEX crown.
“I am so excited to win this for my team and everyone who helps us out,”stated an excited Mackintosh from Concord, NC.
The championship title came by grabbing two victories on the oval and by winning the final two events on the Charlotte Motor Speedway road course.
“Winning a race anywhere is certainly great, winning a championship is even greater but doing it at Charlotte feels amazing,” commented team co-owner Chris “Woody” Woods. Woods continued, “having a chance to show your skill in this neighborhood is always a plus for a young driver like Ryan.”
Mackintosh has been driving for Chris Woods Racing for over three years and competes in the INEX Legends National Series and in the Allison Legacy Series. Chris Woods Racing is based in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
