Pro Stocks and Points – Miramichi Releases Tentative 2014 Schedule

Stock car fans in Northern New Brunswick are about to feel the ground shake with the thunder of Super Late Models for the first time in over a decade.

Management at Speedway Miramichi have released their tentative 2014 schedule, which includes two Pro Stock open shows slated for Saturday, August 16th and Saturday, September 27th.  The Pro Stock shows are a part of a three race stock car series, which will open on Saturday, June 7th – headlined by a Sportsman 100, Street Stock 50 and a Mini Stock 30. The August 16th date will see a Pro Stock 125, Sportsman 75, Street Stock 50 and Mini Stock 30.

The grand finale for stock cars on September 27th will see approximately 400 laps of feature racing, including a Pro Stock 150, Sportsman 75, Mini Stock 50 and Street Stock 50. Visits will also be made from the Atlantic Open Wheel Modifieds and Eastern Super Mini Cup Series, each of whom will make two prior visits to the track in 2014 in advance of their September show.

Of note, the Pro Stock rules will be based off the Petty International Speedway rulebook, which combines those of Speedway 660 and the Maritime Pro Stock Tour with adjustments so drivers from both sanctions can compete. A Petty International Raceway rulebook can be found here. Currently, there are no Bandolero events are scheduled, but that could be subject to change based on interest from race teams. All events are rain dated to Sunday in the event of weather.

Demolition fans have plenty to celebrate as well with four events on the schedule. All events will feature the fan favorite demolitions, in addition the main attraction on the day. Saturday, May 17th opens the schedule with the Full Contact Enduro 100, Saturday, July 12th will see the Smash to Pass 100, the Figure 8 Survivor 100 will hit the track Saturday, September 6th while the Grand Finale main attraction for their annual Halloween Demolition on Saturday, October 18th has yet to be announced.

All stock car series and demolition series will be run for points and champions will be crowned in all divisions.

Keep in mind, this schedule is tentative and could change within the coming weeks. We will have changes as they become available.
