UPDATED: NS Racers Pierce and Casey Take Campaigns To GoFundMe
The search for funding and sponsorship is on for race teams. After all, most teams only have two months and change before that first green flag drops on the first race of 2014. Two Nova Scotia based teams are taking a different approach to find some funding to get to the track this year by using the website GoFundMe.com.
The website is a place for individuals or teams to help obtain fundraising goals. The website is free to sign up for and to set up a campaign, and only a small fee is deducted from each donation, making it an easy platform to those looking to get some extra jingle for the season to get some if placed in front of the right eyes.
Shawn Pierce and DJ Casey have taken to the site in hopes of finding some extra funding to go that extra mile this season. Pierce, a full-time competitor on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour from Bridgewater, has added a new car to his stable for the season and is looking to bring it to the front in the 2014 season.
Casey enters his second season of Sportsman competition at Scotia Speedworld and hopes to follow up his successful rookie season with a sensational sophomore campaign. Casey kicked off 2013 with a podium finish in his first ever Late Model start at Scotia Speedworld in Enfield and ended it by taking the prestigious Debbie Hallahan Memorial Rookie of the Year Award.
Pierce’s campaign has been going for a few weeks now, while Casey’s just began this past weekend. You can check both campaigns out, which includes how you can donate towards their racing efforts, below.
