TIM’S CORNER – NHL Lockout Over, Who’s Your Pick?
With the NHL Lockout over and hockey soon to start in the big leagues, we asked on our Facebook page – who’s your pick to win the 2012-13 Stanley Cup? Here’s some of the forecasts for the upcoming year.
Torsten Brandt – In a 82 game season my Leafs would start great and then would tumble from loosing streak to loosing streak. And finally missing the Playoffs. But with only about 50 games they should start strong as usual and hopefully won’t have the time to throw away the post-season.
Derek Christie – Bruins with a bought out Thomas
Mike Ledwidge – Philly as much as I wanna say the Bruins
You can follow along with the post, and add your pick right here. You may see your name on TimsCorner.ca with your prediction!
PHOTO OF THE WEEK
With the motorsports scene being a bit slow, our Photo of the Week comes from last Thursday night’s Halifax Mooseheads game when they took on the Moncton Wildcats at the Metro Centre. Tim had the chance to take in the game with season ticket holder (and avid motorsports fan) John Strowbridge. Be sure to follow John on Twitter (@johnstrow) to keep up with all his goings on! Thanks again, John!
Tim has been taking in lots of hockey recently. In addition to the Mooseheads/Wildcats game on Thursday, he took in Maritime Hockey League (MHL) action in Truro and Dartmouth on the weekend. Truro’s game saw the Bearcats take on the Woodstock Slammers in an exciting tilt between two of the top teams in the league while the Metro Shipbuilders played a close contest with the Weeks Crushers on Sunday at the Sportsplex. Tim has taken in over a dozen MHL games this season and can usually be found at the rink cheering on the Bearcats and Shipbuilders, but will be torn in the next two months when the teams play each other four times between now and the end of the 2012-13 regular season.
If you’re looking to get out and watch some great, local action, check out the QMJHL or MHL websites for schedules and games near you!
