Mackintosh Clinches INEX Semi Pro Legend Championship
Team Release
The final math has not been completed but you don’t need to use a calculator to know that Ryan Mackintosh has won the 2013 INEX United States Semi-Pro National Championship.
The final totals will have Mackintosh with nearly a 100 point lead over the second place and third place competitors.
The Canadian driver made a dominant statement that he wanted the championship by winning his final 11 races of the season. Included in that streak was a win at United States Nationals in Erie, Pennsylvania.
“We wanted to do everything we could to get this championship”, stated Mackintosh from Concord Motor Speedway on Sunday after sweeping all three weekend events at the track. The INEX season is a grueling test for any competitor.
It kicked off in February with Winter Nationals in Florida and concluded at tracks across the United States on Sunday. The top 10 finishers represented states from California to Connecticut.
“We certainly could not have done this without NorthEastLegends.com, BAM Foyt Racing, Alliance Shippers, PowerWorks Generators and all our other sponsors. People like Chris “Woody” Woods, Christi Woods, Daniel Hemric, Chuck Azoff, Tom Charles, Jeff Jordan, Dennis Lambert and so many more made this happen” commented an excited Mackintosh in Victory Lane.”My family have been behind me the entire time.”
The #03 has competed in 54 events in 2013 and has won an incredible 52% of the races. Mackintosh adds this INEX United States Legends title to the three INEX Canadian Bandolero championships he has won previously.
Mackintosh, a Senior at Concord First Assembly, will not hang up the race suit for the season but will compete in select events as a Legend Car Pro driver and possibly in one or two late model races prior to 2014.
