TCM Announces “Exhibition Cup” for Maritime iRacing League

With the temperatures dropping, the action is set to light up on iRacing with the opening of the second season of the Maritime iRacing League (MiRL).

To get revved up for the highly anticipated season, Tim’s Corner Motorsports has announced a three race mini series prior to the point season kicking off. The Tim’s Corner Motorsports Exhibition Cup will pit the drivers of the MiRL Sportsman and Super Series against each other in three 100-lap races leading up to the 2013-14 season. The overall winner of the series, contingent on fields of fifteen or more cars a show, will receive a $25 iRacing Gift Card from TCM.

“This series was designed to get everyone back together prior to the season starting to shake the rust off,” said Tim Terry, series director for the MiRL. “A lot of us haven’t raced a lot since the finale in April, so we’ll need some practice before we get onto the big stage of ETVLive!”

The schedule for the three race series is as follows:

Wednesday, September 18th – South Boston 100

Wednesday, September 25th- New Smyrna 100

Wednesday, October 2nd – New Smyrna 100

*All races will see qualifying begin at 8pm Atlantic.

The Maritime iRacing League will see two series take to the track this season. Monday night features the MiRL Sportsman division and Wednesday nights will see the MiRL Super Series. The MiRL Super Series is the premiere series for the sim racing league, and will see the top 18 in the standings along with transferees from the Sportsman division go head-to-head in features 150+ laps. Each of the Super Series races will be broadcast live on the internet with ETVLive! The drivers who are not in the top 18 in Super Series points will compete in the Monday Sportsman Series. Over 40 drivers have already registered for the MiRL in 2013-14.
