Tristan Horncastle Headlines “Super Corn Boil” on 660 Speedweekend
Track Release
Speedway 660 is getting ready for SpeedWeekend 2013. Plans are coming together for the Auto Value 250, presented by Jim Gilbert’s Wheels & Deals and RE/MAX Group Four Realty on Sunday, September 1st and the Irving Blending & Packaging 150 on Saturday, August 31st. But before the first green flag flies, there will be an incredible FREE EVENT for FANS at 7PM on Friday, August 30th .
“I encourage race teams, sponsors and fans to come down to the Geary Woods to really get SpeedWeekend 2013 off to a great start with our free Super-Corn-Boil, a presentation of Harvey’s Family Farms” said Speedway 660’s Michelle Roy. “We’ve got a live band featuring Tristan Horncastle, more music by DJ Dale Case, lots of great corn which will be cooked and served up by the RE/MAX Relay for Life Team and a great bonfire.”
The incredible talent of Tristan Horncastle will be on display at a free event, Friday, August 30th at 7PM at Speedway 660. Tristan recently realized a childhood dream of recording an album in Nashville. His debut album release “Good Kinda Crazy” is an awesome accomplishment for this Fredericton native. Tristan’s musical influences include Alan Jackson, Waylon Jennings and Brooks & Dunn. Tristan’s dream is now a reality and Speedway 660 fans are invited down to the track to see and hear Tristan and his band perform songs from his new album.
Speedway 660 will make a donation to the RE/MAX Team for the 2014 Relay for Life. The RE/MAX team is helping the Canadian Cancer Society save lives and support people who are facing cancer. The Relay for Life is an inspirational, non-competitive 12 hour overnight fundraising event to celebrate life and fight cancer.
“Speedway 660 is excited to become a part of the Relay for Life and this kick-off to SpeedWeekend is an awesome opportunity for us to support the relay and give fans the chance to mingle and meet their favourite drivers at a free event before the racing gets underway on SpeedWeekend” said Roy. “A lot of folks will be moving into the Speedway 660 campground for the biggest weekend of racing in our region and this will be a special free evening of great entertainment, but it’s not just for the campers, we invite race fans to drive down to the track for what will be the biggest kick-off ever to SpeedWeekend.”
Some of the best race teams in eastern North America, including the RE/MAX Group Four Realty Pro Stock Division drivers, will converge on Speedway 660 for the Auto Value 250. Speedway 660’s Martins Home Heating Sportsman teams will face their stiffest competition of the year when they face-off against the best Sportsman drivers in our region in the Irving Blending & Packaging 150. SpeedWeekend, from August 30 to September 2nd will also showcase the DMR Auto Sales & Service Street Stocks, Fredericton Gun Shop Sharp Shooters and West Wood Estate Apartments Bandoleros.
