BREAKING: Benjamin to Drive Slaunwhite’s #99 Car at International Weekend
It’s official – the reigning PASS North and Oxford 250 champion will make his first Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour start on August 24th at Petty International Raceway!
Craig Slaunwhite, who is coming off one of the biggest wins of his career at the 14th Annual Atlantic CAT 250 at Scotia Speedworld, has confirmed to Tim’s Corner Motorsports that Morrill, Maine’s Travis Benjamin will drive his #99 Halifax Glass and Mirror Chevrolet in the Parts for Trucks 150. Slaunwhite will be standing in as best man at his brother’s wedding on that date and will not be able to pilot the car, which sits seventh in the standings following the win last weekend.
Benjamin has been having a career season and a half on the PASS North Tour. Following his championship year in 2012, which included one win and 10 top fives in 15 races, he has since racked up two wins, including the prestigious TD Bank 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway. He sits third in PASS North standings, five points behind leader Joey Doiron and former Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour feature winner Cassius Clark.
Slaunwhite and Benjamin now share one accomplishment on their resumes as being Atlantic CAT 250 winners with Benjamin taking the win in the final PASS North sanctioned CAT 250 in 2008.
The secret might not have been a well kept one, as Petty International Raceway staff teased at the possibility in a Facebook post a few weeks ago.
Slaunwhite’s sponsors on his #99 car also include Archibald Drilling and Blasting, Howard Little Excavation, Metals ‘r Us, Prestige Paving, Never Greener Services, Lucas Oil, Ace in the Hole Septic, Priority Precision Tool and Machine, Atlantic Tiltload and Double Z Automotive.
