Greenlaw to Make Sportsman Debut August 17th at Speedway 660
One of the young talents in the region is on the move upward.
Fans at Speedway 660 will be able to watch Drew Greenlaw race his first Sportsman feature on Saturday, August 17th in the Geary woods. The announcement comes off the heels of a successful test with John Rankin this past week. Greenlaw will drive Rankin’s #28 car and will have guidance from two-time Auto Value 250 winner Lonnie Sommerville.
The Speedway 660 Weekly Racing Series has seen a “changing of the guard” in recent years with the younger generation moving up the ranks. This is evident in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman class with the likes of teenagers Matt and Andrew Rodgers making names for themselves in the class in recent years – including a streak of three second place finishes for Andrew in the #14 car in 2013. Sarah McKay recently graduated into the class as well from the kart ranks and has been impressive under the watchful eye of Sommerville and his LSR team.
More can be found on Greenlaw’s effort by visiting his Facebook page. Here is the post from the page announcing his Sportsman debut.
Well Drew made a step up last night with a great test in a Late Model Sportsman car thanks to John Rankin and Lonnie Somerville. Drew was putting up some pretty competitive laps and we had Rick Cashol on the stop watch!
So it is official you will see Drew make his sportsman debut in the #28 of John Rankin’s on Aug 17th at Speedway 660 under the wings of the LSR banner with Lonnie Sommerville crew chiefing.
Drew Greenlaw Racing would like to thank LSR, John Rankin and all of our great sponsors for making this opportunity happen.
