Best Wishes to Steve Seveck

It was announced Saturday night at Speedway 660 that Steve Seveck, driver of the 44s Sportsman in the Geary woods, has been diagnosed with cancer and will be heading to Toronto this week to begin treatment. Steve will be staying in the city for the duration of the treatment.

I had the chance to interview Steve on Unplugged #40 after a second place run in his Sportsman car last year and had the opportunity to sit with the Seveck family during dinner at the Speedway 660 banquet in January and swap racing stories. Steve and his crew are gentlemen on and off the track and it is people like the Sevecks that make this racing community so enjoyable to be apart of!

As for last Saturday night, Steve got up on the wheel and ran in the top three for most of the race before being edged out for the spot, having to settle for fourth place when the checkers flew in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman feature.

All the best to Steve Seveck! Your friends and fans will be patiently waiting to see the 44s back out on track upon your return!
