Pro Stock Tour to Geary for Irving Blending and Packaging 100

(Halifax, NS, July 3, 2013) The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will make its only visit this season to Speedway 600 this Saturday for the Irving Blending & Packaging 100. Speedway 660 is a 1/3 mile high banked oval located just outside of Fredericton in Geary, NB.  Saturday’s Irving Blending & Packaging 100 will mark round five of 12 for the popular Maritime based touring series. Qualifying for the Irving Blending & Packaging 100 gets underway with Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials at 6:10 PM, racing action is slated for 7:00 PM.

When it comes to Speedway 660, hometown favorite Shawn Tucker of Fredericton is the driver to watch. Tucker has amassed an astonishing 24 top-ten finishes in 24 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour sanctioned races at the track, which includes eight wins. The next closest driver to Tucker in the win column that will be in the field on Saturday for the Irving Blending & Packaging 100 is Lonnie Sommerville (Saint John, NB), who has three wins to his credit at his home track. Dave O’Blenis (Boundary Creek, NB) will make his first appearance this season and also has two Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour trophies on his mantle from Speedway 660.

John Flemming of Halifax, NS leads the point standings after four races over Shawn Turple of Enfield, NS. Both drivers have won at Speedway 660 in the past and will look to get back to the top rung of the podium this weekend. Prince Edward Island drivers Greg Proude (Springvale), Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown) and Lucas Oil 150 winner Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall) will look to become the first Island driver to win a point paying Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour feature at Speedway 660 on Saturday night and in turn move themselves closer to the top spot in the standings.

The DMR AutoStreet Stocks and Martins Home Heating Sportsman will also be on track Saturday prior to the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour main event. The Streets Stocks will have a 20 lap feature and the Sportsman will race for 30 laps.

Tickets for the Irving Blending & Packaging 100 will be available at the gate on race day. Admission is $20.00 for Adults (16yrs and up), Youth are $15.00 (9-15 yrs) and Children eight and under are free. Complete event information can be found at www.maritimeprostocktour.com
