Representatives from all four major oval racing tracks in New Brunswick (Petty Raceway, Speedway Miramichi, Speedway 660 and Centre for Speed) met this week to discuss rules in all divisions. While no rules were changed at this meeting, the tracks have released a bulletin as a reminder of rules that teams should read over prior to traveling from track to track.
The results from the meeting are as follows.

IT IS TO BE CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD THAT DURING THIS DISCUSSION THAT THE RESULTS OF THE CARS OBSERVED WILL NOT BE SHARED WITH OTHER TEAMS. THE FOLLOWING OBSERVATIONS ARE HELPFUL TO THE FAIRNESS OF THE SPORT AND ARE RESULTS OF UNDERSTANDING THAT THE ERA OF BUILDING CARS VERSUS BUYING CARS WILL HAVE SOME EVOLUTION ISSUES TO BE MONITORED. IT IS THE FULL INTENTION TO NOT DEVELOP ANY FURTHER COSTS TO ANY TEAM WITH THE RESULTS OF ANY WEEKLY OBSERVATIONS. THE RESULTS THIS MEETING IS FROM BOTH OFFICIALS AND EXPERIENCED CAR BUILDERS IN THE SPORT. HOWEVER, ALL TRACKS ARE AWARE OF THE FINDINGS BY OF TECH NOTES.
The following is only a summary of the rules as stated but a strong reminder when your team travels to other race events in the province.

Street Stock:
Exhaust is to be 2” Maximum diameter with no connecting pipe, and rules clearly state the exact exhaust rules. It was decided that this was not an expensive change for owners so make sure it complies without stretching it. No tolerance for the next race you attend.

Street Stock:
Sway Bar rules are clearly stated and a reminder that the measurement between the link upper and lower washers to be the same on both sides and maximum diameter is determined in the rules in black and white. NON- adjustable Period. No tolerance for the next race you attend.

All Divisions:
Fuel and weight is determined in each division as read. Reminder to Street Stock that “at all times” means at the end of the race. No tolerance for the next race you attend.

Street Stock:
Master cylinder rules indicate a clarification of the Power booster to be in the stock location. The interpretation is you do not have the power booster, and you if you have a master cylinder relocated as mentioned you will need to add 10lbs to the stock master cylinder location or change it to the original location. NO BIAS ADJUSTMENT. No tolerance for the next race you attend.

Street Stock Engine:
All vacuum rules and compression rules will be checked as agreed. All Small cubic inch IE: 305CI, 302CI engines running non matching cylinder heads for original match for the engine block or any measured cubic inch , or displacement improvements that are not stock for the engine pairing numbers. Cars will need to weigh 3600lbs as a 350CI or 351CI It has been decided that 2014 rules may be reviewed to change to eliminate the small cubic inch motor. No tolerance for the next event you attend. “That’s the way I got it” and or “It fits on or in it” will not be an excuse.

Street Stock:
602 Crate engines will need to weigh 3650lbs. Final Weight to be determined. (For testing reasons only). Please ask your home track for details.

Mini Cup:
Rules and spot tech will be provided by series and decided buy director for tech at the end of the night.

Street Stock:
Front spring seat locations are to be non- adjustable with ”absolutely” no adjustability available for the spring. Rear Spring seat locations are inspected no differently as this is clearly stated in black and white. Rear Spring seats are as stated “absolutely” non adjustable. Upper Rear Spring Seats will not exceed 6” from the bottom of the “Unmodified” frame rail to the top of the spring seat where the shim or spring sits. Both seats will be equal on both sides. (this is a stock measurement) A positive locking method and or welding is required for eliminating any adjustment. There will be a tolerance of ¼” maximum + or – on this inspection. No Tolerance for the next race you attend.

Sportsman:
Ball joint discussions and control arms to be closely monitored are written in each track rule outlines. To be decided at a later date. Rule remain at each track until the net discussion.
“ IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THERE IS 3 CARS ON THE RACE TRACK OR 34… AS LONG AS COMPETITION IS WORKING TO BE FAIR…. PEOPLE COME TO WATCH CLOSE RACING….NOT SPEED OR DOMINATION” ….. WE WILL WORK ON IT ONE STEP AT A TIME… THE DAYS OF DIFFERENT RULES AT EVERY TRACK TO MAINTAIN CAR COUNTS IS GONE… THE ECONOMY AND DEMOGRAPHIC DOES NOT SUPPORT IT…..
