While his luck in point races at the track have been less than desired, the 2013 Auburndale Winter Meltdown lit it up last year at the Auto Value 250, turning heads by running up front and coming home with a respectable top five finish. A Who’s Who of PASS cars and stars are expected to make the trip this weekend to the Geary woods in the only Maritime appearance for the series.
In the two 660 house divisions for the weekend, be sure to watch Greg Fahey in the Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman and Roger Slocum in the DMR Auto Sales and Service Street Stocks. Fahey announced this week via Facebook that a “phantom sponsor” has come on board to sponsor the hood of the car and will now commit to all 660 points events as well as those at Petty Raceway. The announcement comes after Fahey took the Jensen Financial Triple Crown, sweeping all races on Opening Day in the Sportsman class.
Slocum took his first win of the season last Sunday during Riverview Ford Lincoln 20th Anniversary Season Opener celebrations. Slocum will lead Benji Ruff and Heidi Cooper into battle Saturday night at Speedway 660.
