HALIFAX, NS (January 20, 2025) – The Auto World Sales and Service Sportsman Series, sanctioned by the Maritime All Star Series (MASS), has set a five-race schedule for 2025. Championship points events will be contested at three tracks – two in Nova Scotia and one in New Brunswick. Top sportsman racers from throughout the region are expected to compete in what will be the fourth year for MASS.
Series management decided to move to five races to allow a more cost-effective season for teams looking to run for the championship.
“We’re mindful of the travel costs for teams and, after considering feedback from many teams, have made this decision,” said Craig McFetridge, MASS owner. “We’re going for less is more and looking forward to growing the number of teams who compete for the title, with increased car count at all of our events – exciting for the racers and the fans.”
Scotia Speedworld, near Halifax, will host the first and third races on May 24 and June 21, respectively. Both share the card with the Maritime Pro Stock Tour. Petty International Raceway, near Moncton, sees the only series stop in New Brunswick on June 14; the sportsman race headlines the event. Riverside International Speedway, near Antigonish, will host the last two events – on July 18 as part of the IWK 250 Super Weekend and on September 6 with the championship points event headlining the show. Plans are underway to make this a grand finale no one will want to miss.
Auto World Sales and Service in Truro has returned as the Sportsman Series title sponsor. This marks the fourth consecutive year they’ve partnered with MASS in this capacity.
