Scotia Speedworld Unveils 2024 Racing Schedule

(HALIFAX, NS – January 30th, 2024) – Scotia Speedworld is excited to announce its 2024 racing schedule. The 2024 season marks the tracks 37th year in operation. Scotia Speedworld is the only track in Atlantic Canada to host a Weekly Racing Series with five divisions racing towards their respective season long point championships.
The season will kick off on the Victoria Day Long Weekend. The traditional double header will see the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour headline the Saturday, May 18th Season Opener with a 150-lap feature. The Maritime All Star Series (MASS) Auto World Sportsman will also contest a 100-lap feature. The MASS Sportsman will return with the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour on Saturday, June 22nd as a part of the Nova Truck Centres 150 festivities. The Bandoleros will join the two Late Model divisions on June 22nd for a non-point event hosted by Tim’s Corner Motorsports.
The East Coast International Pro Stock Tour will contest the Summer Clash 250 presented by Superior Foundations and Atlantic Tiltload on Saturday, August 10th. The Heart of a Champion Hot Rod Classics and the Maritime League of Legends Tour will play support to the Pro Stocks during the marquee event. The East Coast International Pro Stock Tour and the Maritime League of Legends Tour will conclude their seasons on Saturday, September 22nd during the Tirecraft 200. The Street Stocks will return for a second consecutive year during the Tirecraft 200 undercard.
Each Weekly Racing Series division has several events to look forward to in 2024. The season will kick off on Sunday, May 19th with all classes in action. The Weekly Racing Series concludes on Saturday, September 28th with the Second Annual Halifax 300, anchored by extended distance finales for all divisions. Between the two bookends, the Weekly Racing Series will once again call Friday nights home, apart from July 19th (Mid-Season Break) and July 26th (World Series of Monster Trucks).
Some of the highlights of the 2024 Weekly Racing Series schedule include;
The Sportsman division will see multiple extended distance races in the 2024 season. In addition to the Halifax 300, the 29th Shriners Classic (June 14th), Sportsman 100 (August 9th) and the Fourth Annual AJK 50 (August 30th) will be races fans will want to circle on their calendar.
The Legend division will have their 50-lap extended distance feature early in the season on Friday, June 7th. Pending approval, this will serve as an INEX National Qualifier.
The Toursec Mini Stocks will compete in their extended distance Thunder on the Hill feature on Friday, August 16th. Feature length will be announced at a later date.
The Bandolero extended distance features for both Bandoleros and Beginners are slated for the week prior to the Mid-Season Break on Friday, July 12th.
FanFest returns for another season on the eve of the Nova Truck Centres 150 on Friday, June 21st. The event features an autograph session and free admission for fans that pick up a ticket from a participating sponsor location. Participating locations will be announced as the event draws closer.
For our younger generation of fans, Kiddie Rides will take place on June 28th and September 6th. These Friday nights see the chance for race fans to go around the track with their favorite driver prior to the racing action of the evening.
The World Series of Monster Trucks will rock Scotia Speedworld on the weekend of July 26th. Additional information will be released from the event promoter as available.
The 2024 Weekly Racing Series Awards Banquet will return to the Inn on Prince in Truro, Nova Scotia on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024.
Race lengths, marketing partnerships, ticketing information and more will be available closer to the green flag in May. The 2024 racing schedule is subject to change without notice.
