Seven Races at Six Maritime Tracks for Hot Rod Classics in 2023

DARTMOUTH, NS (February 1, 2023) – Organizers for the Hot Rod Classics vintage race car series are excited to announce a seven-race schedule for 2023. Fans at six race tracks in the three Maritime provinces will be treated to a blast from the past when the popular series visits with its carefully crafted hot rod race cars.

They’ll make stops at three tracks in Nova Scotia – Lake Doucette Motor Speedway (Digby), Scotia Speedworld (Halifax), and Riverside International Speedway (James River, near Antigonish), two tracks in New Brunswick – Petty International Raceway (River Glade, NB) and Speedway 660 (Geary, NB), and one track in Prince Edward Island – Oyster Bed Speedway (Oyster Bed Bridge, PE).

2023 HOT ROD CLASSICS SCHEDULE

  1. June 3 – Lake Doucette Motor Speedway, Digby, NS
  2. July 22 – Petty International Raceway, River Glade, NB
  3. August 5 – Oyster Bed Speedway, Oyster Bed Bridge, PE
  4. August 12 – Scotia Speedworld, Halifax, NS
  5. August 19 – Riverside International Speedway, James River (near Antigonish), NS
  6. September 3 – Speedway 660, Geary, NB
  7. September 16 – Petty International Raceway, River Glade, NB

Schedule is subject to change without notice.

The series features race cars from 1985 or before, some original and some replicas – all finely crafted. They offer rookie  fans an opportunity to see the type of car that helped build the foundation for regional racing and at the same time evoke memories of a bygone era for veteran race fans.

The Hot Rod Classics Vintage Race Car Series in partnership with Steele Volkswagen is a proud supporter of the IWK Foundation raising awareness and funds through HRC-branded hoodies, t-shirts, and caps – recently making a 2022 donation in the amount of $8,000.00.

The Hot Rod Classics Vintage Race Car Series was formed in 2019 by organizers of Heart of a Champion, a group formed in 2017 to help preserve Maritime motorsports now with over 28,000 worldwide followers on social media.
