Thompson Named Announcer for New Super Late Model Series
(January 23rd, 2023) – Management of the Super Late Model Series are announcing another addition to the growing arsenal of core off-track talent for the series, as the inaugural season continues to inch closer!
Bringing a blend of youthfulness and experience, Jesse Thompson will anchor the calls as the lead announcer for the Super Late Model Series. Despite being one of the youngest announcers in the region, Thompson brings over a decade’s worth of experience with him and is one of the most recognizable voices in maritime racing.
Thompson got his start on the mic at just thirteen years of age, and his already impressive resume includes being the voice of the Atlantic Modified Tour for several seasons before joining Petty International Raceway as the track announcer for six years. One year ago, he became the announcer for his home track at Speedway 660!
Having plenty of experience in big late model races – including being on the call for the Mike Stevens Memorial, River Glade International, Speedweekend Pro Stock 250, and even some big events south of the border – Thompson is a pro and will be a natural fit.
The superstars of the Super Late Model Series will be ready to hammer down on Saturday May 13th at Speedway 660, as that will mark the historic debut for the SLMS. With Donnie Greer joining as the lead tech inspector and now the announcement of Jesse Thompson as the lead announcer, the puzzle pieces are falling into place as the second Saturday in May is now less than four months away! Everyone is invited to circle this date – and the remainder of the six-race schedule – on their calendars, as these will be the can’t miss racing events of the year!
Drivers and fans are encouraged to stay tuned to the official online home of the Super Late Model Series at SLMS.ca, along with all social media platforms at @SLMSeries for more exciting announcements as the historic debut season approaches!
